This week’s guest is Ankur Agarwal! He is an active Angel Investor and the CEO of Clarion Technologies, a company he co-founded in early 2000s. Today, Clarion has more than 400 employees and over 1000+ clients across the world. Ankur is passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, and through his Angel Fund and Incubator, has invested in multiple companies including food startups, e-commerce companies, social ventures, and more.
Ankur provides a bridge to highly skilled talent in India for companies who might not need a full-time, in-house employee just yet. The great part about Ankur’s company and process is that you have a dedicated team member that you can work with regularly, and you are able to put a name to a face.
The biggest challenge Ankur faced in the beginning of his entrepreneurial career was in 2002. He and his wife were looking for jobs, they were completely broke and on the verge of being homeless, and despite their best efforts, no one was hiring. Pushed into a corner, Ankur had to get creative.
Ankur’s struggles paid off, after 5 years of scrapping for small gig after small gig, Ankur was able to turn his business into a $5 million dollar company. During this time, Ankur never really had that ‘big break’, it was an accumulation of small habits and clients that lead to bigger opportunities over time.
